Forgoing an action due to a Pipe counter is a start-of-turn effect. A player may choose the order in which his or her start-of-turn effects occur. The Corp may forgo actions to remove Virus counters before forgoing actions to Pipe counters, and thus avoid the effects of Pipe counters. |

Remember that the Runner uses special effects first; then the Corp gets to use special effects. This means that if at any point the Corp has 3 appropriate Socket counters, the Runner will be able to give the Pipe counter before the Corp can forgo actions to remove Virus counters (this is important if the Runner has Code Viral Cache installed). |
