Stole this idea from M:TG's Vanguard set.
It might be too disruptive for Netrunner's stagnant algorithm, but it's still relatively fun.
Here are some examples I've worked out and playtested.
RUNNERS-
Example {starting bits} [starting/max hand]
Ability.

Dogg {10}[6]
2 actions: return a card from your discard pile to your hand.

Kiyote {0}[5]
5 bits: Make a run.
3 bits: Reveal a card.

Urza Bloodrunner {5}[7]
You may have any number of decks in play.
3 actions, X bits: Search your stack for a hardware of X bits or less and put it into play. Shuffle you stack afterward.

Jane {0}[0]
You have no hand (you cannot draw). You have unlimited MU. You cannot take brain or meat damage (ignores "cannot be prevented" effects).
4 actions: Search your stack for a program, hardware, resource, or prep and put it into play without paying its bit cost. If it's a prep, play it as though it was from your hand.

Dryadd {2}[5]
Whenever one of your cards places bits or counters on a player a card, place twice that many instead. This does not affect replacing bits.

CORPERATIONS-

Wu-Tech Industries {9}[7]
Double all tags you would give. Whenever a runner accesses your cards, give that runner a tag. A runner may pay an action to ignore these effects for the turn.

Cyberdyne Industries {5}[6]
You may have any number of nodes in a single data fort.

Chiba Mutual {5}[5]
Whenever you score an agenda, search R&D for an aganda with the same agenda points, and score it instead. Shuffle the replaced agenda into R&D.

Freddy Mack {3}[3]
Operations do not take an action to play.
You may play operations anytime.

Mishima Zaibatsu {0}[3]
Forgo you next X agendas points this turn: Until end of turn, agendas get -X difficulty.
1 action: Shuffle a scored agenda into R&D.

Some old players invented V.I.P. cards some years ago it is exactly the same idea.
I'll post VIP cards asap

@car2n - There are a lot of American users on this site who are also very pationate about this game as well (e.g. RevDon who has submitted many many decks) and who'd like to see the game back.

I think a comment like calling all Americans "stupid infidels" is inappropriate on a site where fans from around the world a supposed to come togeather to talk about this game and get involved as a community.

It's a term of endearment.
I'm American also (Tucson, AZ). Out here it's a gaming void, everyone is too poor to support anything. I'm disappointed this game died while stuff like Pokemon still thrives.

But that's getting off topic.

CORPORATION-

Fanny Mae {0}[3]
If you have at least 5 agenda points, you win.

Microsoft {5}[5]
1 agenda point: Put up to 3 advancement counters, divided anyway you choose, on up to 3 cards that can be advanced.

AOL/Time/Warner {3}[7]
Operations cost 3 less to play
7 bits: Gain an action. Forgo your an action on your next turn.

U.S. Government {0}[Infinite]
You have no R&D. You cannot lose from deck exhaustion. You can only play one card a turn.
1 action, discard X cards from HQ: Gain X bits.

RUNNER-

Digital Dana {10}[6]
You have no MU limit.
3 actions: search your stack for a program, reveal it, and put it into your hand.

Max Forward {3}[4]
X bits: Roll a die. Until the end of a run, an icebreaker's strength is equal to the die roll. You cannot increase the strength for that run. Use this ability only at the beginning of a run. X equals that icebreaker's bit cost.

Matsuyu Kakero {5}[6]
Bit cost for abilities on you programs are reduced by 3. This cannot reduce the bit cost to less than one.

Highlander {3}[8]
XX bits. Trash a rezzed ice. Play only during a run, and only if you've broken all subroutines on that ice. X equals that ice's rez cost.
